Haunted House - Ryan Adams
Welcome to my haunted house
I live here alone, ain't no one else
It's the last house at the end of the block
My friends all disappear one by one
The cracks in the windows and the spiders, they crawl
Across the lattice from 1924
Life is too sweet, yeah, and life is too short
And there's nowhere to fall
I don't want to live in this haunted house anymore
I don't want to live in this haunted house anymore
There's a painting on the wall
I see its eyes watching me as I walk on down the hall
Nobody stops to write, nobody calls
My friends all disappear
They all got lost
The cracks in the windows and the spiders, they crawl
Across the lattice from 1924
Life is too sweet, man, and life is too short
And there's nowhere to fall
I don't want to live in this haunted house anymore
I don't want to live in this haunted house anymore
PopPop writes a blog about things he's seen and done
How things have changed since olden days when he was very young.
We didn't have a wii said he but we still had some fun
Yes, things were very different when my PopPop was young.
Shoes had laces, clocks had hands and faces
You didn't take your phone when you went to different places
The phone was attached to the wall and it didn't do anything but call
Things were different when my Dad was a kid, at least that's what he said.
The phone numbers for all his friends were kept up in his head
They used a giant paper map instead of being led
By a gps but I guess they just stayed home instead.
